The advertisement shows Amitabh Bachchan intervening in a conversation amid a lady and the character dressed as her driver.

Amitabh Bachchan intervens a lady directing the driver to speed up with a reminder to practice road safety rules.

Taking the advice, she says to her driver, “Jaldi mat machao, aaram se jaao” (don’t hurry, go slowly). The words are then reiterated by Amitabh Bachchan, showcasing the importance of road safety rules.

The caption on the video read, “Our words have the power to prevent them. Every time we send someone off on the road, let’s remind them to slow down and drive safely. A simple reminder can make a big difference-because it’s always better to be late than never.”

The Sadak Surakhsa Abhiyan is aimed at making individuals aware of road safety information to make them more cautious and responsible to ensure a safer environment for all and eventually reduce the number of people killed in road accidents every year.

Speeding is a major risk factor in road crashes. As per survey, in
2023, speeding accounted for 68.1 percent (117,682) of road crash fatalities, surpassing several other causes.

While, it may seem tempting to reach a destination faster, the dangers of speeding far outweigh the minimal time saved.
