Pratik Gandhi’s ‘Phule’ release deferred amid caste representation controversy

Reportedly the Ananth Mahadevan directorial ‘Phule’ featuring Pratik Gandhi release has been deferred
amid caste representation controversy.

It’s learnt that the
Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj and Parshuram Aarthik Vikas Mahamandal are among the organisations that have voiced their concerns. it is due to concerns from the Brahmin community about their representation in the movie that the release has been deferred for two weeks.

The CBFC has requested several edits, including the removal of caste-related references, before approving the film for release which was scheduled for April 11 release.
