Kavya Maran SRH Owner hugs Abhishek Sharma’s Parents on his century

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran was spotted hugging Manju Sharma and Raj Kumar Sharma, parents of the team’s opening batter Abhishek Sharma amidst the IPL 2025 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS). A video of the moment has now gone viral on social media.

Notably, Abhishek returned to form with an incredible 141 off 55 balls. He reached his century off just 40 balls, which was the third-fastest century by an Indian in the history of the IPL tournament. The left-hander celebrated in emphatic fashion, unfurling a note reading, ‘This Is For SRH Fans’.

It was Abhishek’s stunning return to form for the opening batter. His scores in the season before this match read 24, 6, 1, 2 and 18. With him, SRH had also faltered, winning no matches after the first one.

As he returned to form, SRH shot down 246 in just 18.3 overs to seal the second-highest chase in the history of IPL tournament.

As quoted amid the post-match presentation, he said It isn’t that easy for any player to go through that form.

Special mention goes to the team and captain, very simple message to the batters although he wasn’t doing well. Had a talk with Travis and it was a special day for both of us. He added that ever play anything behind the wicket, I was trying a few shots because I wanted to invent a few shots because of the size and the bounce on this wicket. The entire team is waiting for his parents.

They did not talk anything, but, just wanted to express and play the natural game. This one is very special and he was thinking that he wanted to break the losing streak, it was very tough as a player and as a youngster, but the mood in the team was very good. Special mention to Yuvi (paaji), he has been talking to him and also thanks to Suryakumar Yadav as well. He hasn’t been in touch with him and has been there for him, he added.
