Akasa Airlines issues important update for all passengers
Akasa Airlines has issued important update for all passengers travelling by Akasa Airline from Mumbai airport.
Akasa Airlines in its post on social media platform X said that ‘due to pre-monsoon maintenance, both runways at Mumbai Airport have been closed on 8 May 2025, due to which some of their flights to and from Mumbai have been impacted. They understand that this may affect l travel plans and they apologise for the inconvenience. Please check your flight
Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), which operates the airport, also gave an update regarding this that on May 8, from 11 am to 5 pm, both runways – primary (09/27) and secondary (14/32) will be temporarily closed for maintenance work. Amidst this time, no flight will take off or land from the airport.
This work is done every year
The Airlines further stated that it’s a
pre-monsoon maintenance work done every year, which is very important for the safety and longevity of the airport infrastructure. Amidst this time, experts inspect the runway surface to check for any wear or damage. Apart from this, necessary measures are taken to prevent waterlogging so that safe takeoff and landing can be ensured during the monsoon.
