Bollywood preps for its next historical with “Operation Sindoor”
In the aftermath of India’s prompt and calculated counter attack on the recent Pahalgam terror incident, now known as “Operation Sindoor”.
Bollywood is on prep for its next patriotic blockbuster.
Just a couple of days later, Bollywood is now having a war of its own. As details of the strike were made public, Bollywood was the first to take notes.
title “Operation Sindoor” has producers and filmmakers in an uproar.
As per trade sources, the Mahaveer Jain production company was the first to register the title, putting them at the forefront of this rush.
Renowned director Madhur Bhandarkar has also registered the title adding to the makers of this potential film.
movie titled “Operation Sindoor,” given its cinematic appeal, is likely to garner a tremendous response.
The trend of making movies based on actual military incidents is not new; movies like Raazi and Shershaah have done fairly well at the box office and have made the genre highly sought after.
To cite an example is URI. For Bollywood, such stories not only inspire patriotic spirit but also present a chance to gain commercial success.
A race for the title is a minuscule issue considering the film will also have to be made.
Given the actual incident, the movie will undoubtedly have a religious tone. A one-sided narrative on such a delicate subject might easily turn this significant event into a propaganda piece.
An overblown story may worsen an issue of conflict when border tensions are already high.
The fact that the incident is still fresh in people’s memories means the story must be told with precision if it is to be portrayed on a large screen.
Cinema can be a great tool to preserve a moment in history, so the weight of depicting this story to its truest essence puts a lot of weight on the makers of the film.
No matter who gets to make this epic, one thing is for sure: all eyes will be watching.
