Thug Life audio launch deferred to 16 May owing to Indo-Pak
tensions
The launch of the Mani Ratnam directorial
“Thug Life” audio launch was shaping up to be one of the biggest film events of the season. But has been put off amid the escalating Indo-Pak tensions and choosing
National Sensitivity over
Cinematic celebration.
The film’s team released a statement acknowledging the situation: “Art can wait. India comes first.
As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, Kamal Haasan believes it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration. A new date will be announced at a later, more appropriate time.
At this time, our thoughts are with the brave men and women of our armed forces who stand vigilant, safeguarding our nation. As citizens, it is our duty to respond with restraint and solidarity. Celebration must make way for reflection.”
In uncertain times, this gesture reminds us that art doesn’t stand apart from the world—it stands with it. For fans, the wait may be longer, but so is the admiration for a team that knows when to step back and stand together.
