He still feels Shah Rukh Khan is yet a middle-class boy at heart.
Notedly, Anubhav Sinha may have reinvented himself in the last seven years with socially conscious cinema like Mulk Article 15 and Thappad, but the failure of his 2011 superhero film Ra.One continues to haunt him for the longest time. Though he maintains he had a great time working with Shah Rukh Khan, the baggage of that setback stayed with him for years.
Adding that it didn’t ’ turn out the way it was wanted. It was a heartbreak, which he carried in his heart, chest, and shoulders until 2018, when Mulk released. Anubhav had almost given up on himself as a director and decided not to direct. He scripted Mulk in the next three days and went out in the market, money took a bit of time. And then went there and made it. But, for the director, It had become impossible to not make it.
