Weather Bureau issues Cyclone alert in Arabian Sea with possibility of .rough weather conditions near the coasts of Maharashtra.

Infact a low-pressure area has developed over the sea since Wednesday May 21,.and is gradually expected to intensify and move northwards by Saturday May 24.

The information was shared by Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Maharashtra on their official social media account.

While there is no direct threat to the coastal regions of Maharashtra, the IMD has stated that the sea is likely to remain disturbed and rough due to the weather system. The effects of this development was particularly felt amid May 22 and May 24,in the midst of which the sea near coastal areas like Raigad, Ratnagiri, Mumbai and Palghar could become turbulent.
This may be followed by strong winds in deep sea areas, which could pose a serious risk to small fishing boats and vessels.

Meanwhile the Disaster Management Department has issued a set of safety instructions for fishermen and coastal communities and department has strongly advised against venturing into the deep sea amidst this period.

Fishermen urged to keep a distance stay and to strictly follow the guidance issued by the authorities and fishermen’s cooperative societies.
