OTT Giant Netflix and TV Czar Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms are set to join forces with Netflix for a new venture that aims to bring Indian stories to global platforms. The official announcement was recently made by the two entertainment companies and claim to have a shared vision heading forward in this direction.
Notedly, the two entertainment giants have joined forces and given some unacclaimed projects like Kathal, Pagglait and Jaane Jaan which displays of a potential that could be tapped into. Infact, the demand for desi stories on a global platform has urged many filmmakers and production houses to go on a big scale and this association could turn out to be an exciting one.
But, the news is not devoid of backlash from the fans who feel that Ekta is not the face of authentic Indian lifestyle. Often dragged into the nepo-kid scrutiny she is majorly acknowledged as a name from the TV industry.
She is recognised for projects like Naagin and the lethargic saas bahu drama. If this is what she goes forward in this new force fans feel that it will be a disaster for Indian entertainment’s image to the world.
As it is, Netflix content like Jewel Thief, Nadaaniyan and Archies has been an absolutely embarrassing representation.
Meantime, Fans feel skeptical over Ekta’s entry at this point.
