Diljit Dosanjh has commenced shoot for Border 2 and puts all rumours to rest of replacement following Sardaarji 3 controversy.

The actor-singer confirmed his involvement in the much-anticipated sequel by posting a reel on Instagram, clearly signaling that he remains very much a part of “Border 2”.

The clarification comes after online criticism of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir’s Sardaar Ji 3 casting, which allegedly sparked rumours that Diljit was fired from Border 2.

In the midst of swirling controversy and rumours, Diljit Dosanjh has eventually put to rest rumours over his exit from Border 2.

He shared all rumours on his Instagram, the and reaffirmed his ongoing participation in the eagerly awaited sequel.

With the famous song “Sandese Aate Hai” from the original Border playing in the background, Diljit can be seen in the video wearing a military coat and showing off army badges bearing his name.

The clarification comes after online criticism of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir’s Sardaar Ji 3 casting, which allegedly sparked rumours that Diljit was fired from Border 2. After the devastating Pahalgam attack in April, the backlash turned more intense, leading many internet users to wonder why a Pakistani actor would be in an Indian production.

Nevertheless, the ongoing controversy, earlier reported that Diljit was not being removed from Border 2.

The news about his replacement isn’t true; Diljit is part of Border 2 and we have already shot 50 percent of the film with him. The announcement about his casting was made almost 9 months back.”

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit broke his silence on the subject. He claimed that Hania Aamir’s casting was completed long before cross-border tensions, such as the Pahalgam attack and Operationoʻ Sindoor, recently increased.

He emphasised that months before these incidents, the movie had already been finished. He also supported the producers’ choice to release Sardaar Ji 3 abroad, citing the popularity of Punjabi films around the world.
