Linguistic issue continues-war of words amid MNS Chief and BJP MP escalates
In the midst of escalating war of words amid MNS Chief Raj Thackeray and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, Sudhir Mungantiwar on Friday attempted to dial down the rhetoric, stating that no one can be allowed to “drown anyone in the sea” in a country governed by the Constitution.
Sharply reacting to the recent string of violent remarks from Dubey’s “patak patak ke maarenge” to Thackeray’s counter-threat “Mumbai ke samundar mein dubo dubo ke maarenge” — Mungantiwar said,
“Koi kisi ko samundar mein duba ke maar nahi sakta.
n this country, we respect the Constitution. To safeguard it, there is no dearth of martyrs like Tukaram Omble. If someone goes to drown someone, there would be several police personnel who would stop you.”
His comments came shortly after Raj Thackeray on Friday hit back at BJP’s Dubey for allegedly threatening Marathi people.
