It’s a well-known fact that Bollywood and its connect to cricket have often headlined. Some cricketers married Bollywood actresses, while some love stories remain incomplete.

Not many know that Sachin Tendulkar and the 90s Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shirodkar, were once linked to each other.
But, eventually, Sachin tied the knot to Anjali
and has welcomed two children. On the other hand, Shilpa also married Aparesh Ranjit, a UK-based banker. They got married in 2000. But is there any truth behind the affair between Sachin and Shilpa, Sachin and Shilpa said about their alleged affair.

In a past interview with Shilpa Shirodkar addressed her alleged affair with famous cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. The actress stated that she met the OG cricketer when she was doing the 1991 film, Hum. She shared that Sachin and her cousin brother used to play cricket in Bandra East, and that is how she met the star cricketer. Shilpa revealed that when she met Sachin, he was already seeing Anjali, whom he later married. In her own words:
when she was doing Hum, she met Sachin for the first time, because Sachin jaha pe rehte the mere cousin brother waha par rehte the. Sachin and her cousin brother used to play cricket together in Bandra East. So, that’s how she caught up with ShilpaShirodkar. And that around, Sachin was already seeing Anjali at that time, which was not told to anybody. We all knew because we were friends. Because an actor is meeting a cricketer and he was Sachin Tendulkar, it became easy for people to say, aree and she met him once.

The speculations started as the duo came from the same Maharashtrian backgrounds. In the interview, Sachin was asked that what is the stupidest thing he had heard about himself. In response, he said about his alleged affair with Shilpa Shirodkar. He firmly rejected his relationship with the actress and also claimed that they didn’t know her. In his words:
That Shilpa Shirodkar and he were having an affair. We didn’t even know each other at all.

Sachin Tendulkar tied the knot with Anjali Tendulkar on May 24, 1995. She is six years older than the OG cricketer, but the age-gap never came their relationship. The couple first met at the Mumbai airport. Later, it was Anjali who managed to get the famous cricketer’s number, and the duo started dating as it was love at first sight for both of them.

Earlier, amid an event, Anjali told Harsha Bhogle that she had earlier not known much about cricket, but over time, she made an effort to learn everything about the game. The couple welcomed two children, a daughter, Sara Tendulkar and a son, Arjun Tendulkar.
