England’s Joe Root to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record?

The bond amid Joe Root and red ball cricket is one that is destined to break every existing record.
With Root now ascending to the 2nd position with 13,409 runs when it comes to test cricket, the only one left to be beaten by him is India’s legend Sachin Tendulkar. He still tops the chart with 15,921 runs to show for himself.

While many cricket pundits believe that Root is going to break Sachin’s record at most by 2027.
And a major part of the credit for this goes to the ECB. The English board has made sure that their team plays plenty of test matches to both gain experience as well as help Root break the mammoth record of Tendulkar.

The BCCI, on the other hand, seems to be prioritising IPL and money over the purest form of cricket.
Ever since the dawn of the IPL, test cricket in India has gone down by a significant margin, leaving the players with far less experience than they used to have before.

Even the ODI format has suffered its fair share. Although, there used to be at least 5 ODI match series earlier, now they have been limited to just 3.
With everything seemingly going downhill, we can only hope that the BCCI realises its mistakes and works promptly to save Indian cricket from the visible doom.
