SRK wins National Award after 33 years
Shah Rukh Khan wins National Award. The actor expressed his feelings after receiving the National Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Atlee’s 2023 film ‘Jawan’. It took him 33 years to win this highest civilian award
He shared this honor with Vikrant Massey, who earned the award for his role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ’12th Fail’. The achievement marks the first National Award for both actors.
The actor also shared his heartfelt thanks after receiving the prestigious award. Accompanying a video, he expressed, “Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B ministry. Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad.
In the video, SRK can be heard saying, “Needless to say overwhelmed with gratitude and humility. To be honoured with a national award is a moment that he will cherish for a lifetime. Thanks so much to the jury, the chairman and Information and Broadcasting Ministry and to everyone who thought he was worthy of this honour.”
Adding that “the few years gave him so much more love and care as if he was the kid in the house and they want the best for him. They know his obsession for cinema takes him away from them. But they all bear it with a smile and allow him the time. So thanks for that,” the actor went on.
Further added that “a National Award is not just an achievement. It’s a reminder that what he do matters. It tells him to keep going, keep working hard, keep creating and keep serving cinema. In a world full of noise, being truly heard is a blessing. And he ensures to use this recognition not as a finish line, but as a fuel to continuous striving, learning and giving back. Ye award mere liye ek reminder hai ki acting sirf ek kaam nahi hai, ek zimmedari hai. Screen par sach dikhane ki zimmedari. Aap sab ke pyar ka main bohot boot abhaari hoon aur Bharat sarkar ka is sammaan ke lie bohot bohot shukriya.
And then lastly to his fans, “Thank you for all the cheers and all their tears and thanks for pausing while scrolling for watching him. This award is for you, for all of you. And yes, he would love to spread his arms for you and share his love. But he is a bit indisposed. But don’t worry. Keep the popcorn ready. Will be back in theatres and soon on the screen. So till then, just with one hand, ready.”
