FM Nirmala Sitharaman visits Krishna Mutt in Udupi

Reportedly, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited Udupi and inaugurated the newly constructed Yali at Krishna Mutt in Udupi on Saturday.
She called upon the citizens to pray before the god for prosperity of the country.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed ‘Yali’ (Sutthupouli), a traditional wood carving around the Krishna Mutt on Saturday, Nirmala Sitharaman said she is in the temple of Lord Krishna whose grace has been immense on her. She.is overwhelmed to be part of the function spiritually enhancing.

The Finance Minister was in the temple on the day of Raksha Bandhan. She said that she wants Krishna’s grace for India and its Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the biggest of challenges, it is the prayers of gurus and grace of god that matter. Grace of Lord Krishna will lead us and take us forward. When you pray before the lord, do pray for Mother India. This country should prosper, and all our youngsters should prosper. We (Indians) should unite to serve the country,” she said.
Everyone of the Asta Mutts was serving Lord Krishna and worshiping the Lord, advocated by Madhwacharya. The Asta Mutts have continued the culture of serving ‘Bala Krishna’. They have also kept up the tradition of ‘Anna Brahma’ by feeding people. By the grace of Lord Krishna, the kitchen continues to feed people every day.
Recalling her visit to the Mutt with her parents in 2005 during the paryaya of Admar Mutt Vishwapriya Tirtha, Ms. Sitharaman said the visit came at a time when she was going through some personal difficulties. The seer has blessed her several times, and the seer’s prayer has made a lot of difference in her life. She hailed the initiative of Paryaya Puthige Mutt seer Sugunendra Tirtha to collect one crore handwritten Bhagavad Gitas as part of ‘Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna’ and his work of spreading Lord Krishna’s message in Bhagawad Gita across the world.
Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murty was honoured with the Shri Krishna Geethanugraha award for her contributions to literature and philanthropy. Retired Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Dinesh Kumar was present on the occasion.
