Saiyaara success gives some established actors sleepless nights and feel of insecure.
In a league of it own, the success of “Saiyaara” has reportedly pushed some bigwigs of Bollywood to sleepless nights and also has made some feel insecure and restless.
This reaction is attributed to the film’s un-anticipated and enormous box-office success, particularly since it features newcomers, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. It’s a Mohit Suri’s directorial.
The film is the highest opener ever for a love story with newcomers and finally it has ended up making more than Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office.
If no exaggeration, the film’s success of the film has emerged from nowhere and has completely overturned the industry. While Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh goes on to claim that certain industry members were having “sleepless nights” over the film’s success, Komal Nahta went on to add that a prominent male star was “visibly nervous” after learning that the numbers were genuine and “not fudged in any way.”
Now Mohit Suri when asked on this he addressed the reactions on the film. sans mincing words he asserted that the plan wasn’t to disrupt the industry, but the idea was to cause to his own life and would make a sequel film prior to this and didn’t make a good film. Suddenly, everyone was ruling him out. You need to understand, if you’ve been in the industry for 17 years, and make a sequel film with stars and it doesn’t do well, people want to rule you out. He has never been there, but was always the young guy on set. A lot of actors who are getting sleepless nights probably ruled him out.
He continued that the impeding was his own life. He did it his way. Everyone can clearly see that it looks like his kind of film. If other people have got disrupted of it, so be it.” Mohit revealed that after Ek Villain Returns underperformed, some films were taken away from him. While he didn’t directly name Aashiqui 3, he has earlier acknowledged that Saiyaara’s script began as that project. His goal, he said, was to avoid getting trapped in making “packages” and instead “go organic.”
Komal Nahta, also shared just how widespread the disbelief was. He didn’t take the actor’s name so as not to embarrass them. But whatever hrs wrote, that he is spending sleepless nights, that he is constantly on calls asking if the numbers are accurate, every word of that article is genuine, he swore. The only detail that he had misrepresented is the number of films that person has done, but only to save them from embarrassment.
