Janhvi Kapoor jostled amidst Dahi Handi event in Mumbai
Bollywood’s most popular, much publicized and headlining for various reasons, Janhvi Kapoor became a part of the Janmashtami Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai to promote her upcoming film “Param Sundari”.
Sundari’. She was mobbed by the crowd as she made her way out of the venue.
Dressed in a pastel yellow traditional outfit, Kapoor participated in the festivities and broke the handi with a coconut, a symbolic act marking the occasion. She also greeted the crowd in Marathi, wishing them on Janmashtami and urging them to watch her film, slated for release on August 29.
The festive cheer, however, quickly turned overwhelming. As fans rushed in for a closer peek of the actress, the atmosphere took on a mob-like intensity. In total disregard to the commotion, Janhvi maintained her composure, smiling and waving before being escorted to her car by security personnel.
Meanwhile, she is all set for the release of ‘Param Sundari’, produced by Dinesh Vijan. Also featuring in the film are besides Janhvi is Sidharth Malhotra in a romantic comedy set between Delhi and Kerala. The film explores a cross-cultural love story and also features Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in pivotal roles.
The recently released trailer sparked mixed reactions online. While some criticised Kapoor’s attempt at a Malayali accent, others appreciated the film’s vibrant treatment and chemistry between the leads.
