CM Fadnavis stood his ground ensuring Manoj Jarange’s fast didn’t linger
In politics a week indeed is a long time.
It entailed Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis as long as five days, to undo two years of brickbats over the Maratha reservation issue.
Even as Manoj Jarange Patil called off his fast on Tuesday and vacated Mumbai proclaiming that he was going home with “six of his eight” demands met, the Maratha quota activist wasn’t the only one seen as victorious.
So was Fadnavis, who had managed to stand his ground, ensured that Jarange Patil’s agitation didn’t drag on for a longer period and paralyse Mumbai by blocking public and transport movement.
