Zarina prefers working in South Films – lauds their professionalism

Veteran actress Zarina Wahab, as of now on shoot for Raja Saab with Prabhas under Maruthi’s directorial showers praises on the cast and crew for their punctuality discipline and above all their professionalism.

Over a telephonic conversation with a press member, she also shared her views on Bollywood’s disconnect with audiences and other industry trends.

On working with Prabhas and director Maruthi, she feels it to be fantastic. Adding that the entire cast and crew were very punctual, and director Maruthi is a wonderful young director who’s easy to work with. He’s very calm and knows exactly his requirements. About 99% of the film has been smoothly wrapped up. Never at any moment did he raise his voice. He brings out the best in his actors. He wants Zarina to dub Raja Saab in both Hindi and Telugu, and she has given her consent.

Over differences amid South and Bollywood films, as per Zarina,
has noticed a significant difference in how family is portrayed in South Indian films in comparison to that of compared to Bollywood films. In South cinema, family is at the core. Ironically, this is missing in Bollywood today. While she has loved working in both industries, somehow feels Bollywood has lost touch with audiences when it comes to such storytelling. She hopes to see a resurgence of films that celebrate strong family bonds and values.

On the transformation Bollywood, the actress quotes that the kind of films we used to make in the past are hard to replicate today. Ironically, Bollywood seems to fragmenting, and will continue to do so. She claims it to be lucky she entered Bollywood in the earlier era. If she had to enter now, she wouldn’t have got work.
