It’a a well-known fact in the Indian Film Industry, that stunning actress Rekha has always headlined for her alleged love affairs and romantic relationships. Although often linked to Amitabh Bachchan, there was an era when her bond with Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan had emerged as the talk of the town.
Reportedly, the two were madly in love with each other in the 80’s and had even decided to get married but eventually parted ways.
Rekha and Imran Khan were first linked together amidst the 1980s. The two were often spotted together at events and that’s how the chatter of their love story began.
In the year 1985, there a report claimed that Imran had spent several weeks in Mumbai with Rekha and the duo was often seen together on the beaches and were “painting the town red”.
Those who saw Rekha and Imran enjoying each other’s company at the beach were struck by their closeness and were thus convinced that they loved each other and shared deep and passionate relationship.
Rumours of their romantic bond blossomed stronger. Following the same report claiming that even Rekha’s mother, Pushpavalli, was fond of Imran and was keen for the two to get married. Reportedly, she had also visited an astrologer to check if Imran could be a suitable match for her daughter. Rekha’s mother was convinced that Imran could be a welcome addition to her family
Noteworthily in 1989, Rekha attended a charity concert in Lahore with Imran Khan. During the event, the actress was seen dancing with Imran, Vinod Khanna and cricketer Javed Miandad on stage.
Neither Rekha nor Imran ever confirmed the relationship. While it remains an unspoken mystery, nobody knows what happened between the two and why they parted ways.
After Imran Khan, Rekha was also linked to several other Bollywood actors, including Navin Nischol, Vinod Mehra and Jeetendra.
