UK PM Keir Starmer at a cultural event, marking India-UK ties.
Notably, a rendition of Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh’s ‘Sapphire’ was also played at the event.
Taking to his X (twitter) PM Modi shared the video and wrote, “Wonderful rendition of Ed Sheeran & Arijit Singh’s Sapphire, which is a great example of India-UK cultural partnership…(sic)!”
‘Sapphire’, the cross-cultural collaboration amid British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and Indian singer Arijit Singh, is a rhythmic and heartfelt pop track. Released as a single from Sheeran’s album ‘Play’, the song is a vibrant fusion that incorporates both Western pop sensibilities and a distinct South Asian influence, notably featuring Punjabi lyrics.
