Abhishek Bachchan bags first-ever Filmfare Best Actor award

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, despite having delivered some of the most amazing films in his career spanning 25 years, yet, his performance couldn’t be recognised.
He couldn’t believe his eyes that he would be honoured with Filmfare Best Actor award for
“I Want To Talk” released in 2024 in which he had essayed the lead role. It was quite an emotional moment for him.

Flustered with the honours done to him Abhishek Bachchan, amidst teary-eyed delivered a heartbreaking and emotional speech saying that “This year
2025, marks 25 years in the film industry, and he cannot remember how many times he has practised a speech for this award. This has been a dream, and he is just so touched and humbled. Receiving it in front of his family makes it even more special. There’s a host of people he needed to thank, so please… Kartik (Aaryan), ther jao tum abhi, tum sambhal jao tab tak. Kartik has gotten very emotional and made him speak, thinking he wouldn’t get emotional.

The actor then continued and added, “To all the directors and producers who have worked with him believed in him, and given him opportunities over the past 25 years, it’s not been easy, but it has definitely been worth it.”
Abhishek, while being emotional, mentioned his wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya and said, “To Aishwarya and Aaradhya, thank you for allowing him to go out and follow his dreams. He hopes that by winning this award, they see that their sacrifices have been one of the main reasons he stood at the stage. He dedicated this award to two very special people. This film is about a father and a daughter, and wanted to dedicate it to his hero, his father, and to his other hero, his daughter. Thank you so much, he cannot express what this means to him.

About the film “I Want To Talk”- it features Abhishek as a terminally ill father who wants to reconnect with his daughter. It marks the actor’s first collaboration with director Shoojit Sircar, who is known for making films such as Vicky Donor, Sardar Uddham, October, Piku, and others. The film is inspired by a true story and also features Jayant Kriplani and Ahilya Bamroo in key roles.

On the work front, Abhishek was seen in the comedy film Housefull 5 alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonam Bajwa, and Jacqueline Fernandez. He will next be seen in King alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.
