Raushni Srivastava recalls her Journey of Resilience and Passion
Actress Raushni Srivastava embarked on her artistic journey with the television serial Raghukul Reet Sada Chali Aaye, featuring the legendary Rajesh Khanna. Subsequently went on to appear in several other shows, including Koi Toh Hai Ardhnarishwar, Zindagi Ke Rang, Khatam Hone Se Pehle, and popular episodic series such as Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai. Additionally, Raushni dabbled into television work and featured in a range of high-profile corporate ad films for leading brands like Colgate, Pidilite, Fevicol, Tata Housing, as well as a Congress commercial and a Reader’s Digest advertorial. She also exhibited her versatility as a host, anchoring a couple of shows — with “Night Out”being particularly acclaimed by the audience.
Her journey in the entertainment industry was anything but easy. She further characterises that “Men everywhere try to tame and contend with women. Through it all, her father remained her greatest support, enabling her to pursue meaningful work with integrity and on her own terms.
In 2017, she forayed into the world of short films, marking a turning point in her career. Her performance in the Ravie Ravan’s directorial
“The Long Drive” won her the Best Actress Award at an acclaimed international film festival. Forthwith her short film Mr. & Mrs. Charlie emerged as a a finalist at Filmfare, further solidifying her presence as a performer to watch.
In December 2020, she struck with sorrowTragedy struck when her revered father departed to the “immortal world”—a heartbreak that deeply impacted on her. Channeling her emotions into creativity, Raushni switched to writing and created several short films, including Comfort Goes On, My Mom, Duniyadaari Love Sucks, Women Talks, and the iPhone-shot short feature Types of Love. She penned the lyrics for “Love The Mystery” and “Don’t Don’t,” marking her singing debut in 2022. Her performance in the Abhishek Kumar Singh directorial “My Mom”, earned her expansive appreciation. She now eagerly anticipates to the release of her upcoming film “Kalika,” a powerful story centered on mental abuse, slated for a theatrical release.
She dedicates her journey to the loving memory of her father.
