Parineeti recalls working in London or embrace politics wasn’t her intent

Actress Parineeti Chopra recalls that she neither had any intent to take up job in London nor to embrace politics.
From pursuing a degree in London to emerging as one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses, she has come a long way.
The 1988 born hails from a middle-class Punjabi family in Ambala. She once aspired to be doctor investment banker, but fate had other plans. Today is her birthday.
Parineeti rang in her 37th Birthday today, Saturday. It’s a special birthday for her- first after welcoming her first child, a boy, with husband-politician Raghav Chadda.
A brief on Parineeti: The actress holds a triple honours degree in finance and economics, with aspirations of emerging as a top investment banker. However, the story took a dramatic turn in 2009 when the global economic downturn shuttered opportunities in the banking sector.
With her dreams at stake, Parineeti returned to India and, with the support of her cousin Priyanka Chopra, took up internship in the marketing and public relations (PR) department at Yash Raj Films (YRF).
At that time around, her role involved managing the public relations for actors from behind the scenes, including her first film co-star, Anushka Sharma.
Even as working at YRF, the studio’s casting director playfully suggested Parineeti give a mock audition after noticing her vibrant personality. Treating it as a fun challenge, she recorded herself performing some dialogues of Kareena Kapoor’s iconic character, Geet, from the film Jab We Met.
Eventually this informal audition tape reached YRF chief Aditya Chopra, who was much impressed by her natural energy and acting skills. He immediately moved her out of the marketing department and offered her a three-film acting contract.
Aditya Chopra told Parineeti that she was wasting her talent in PR and that she was meant to win hearts in front of the camera. Following this, in 2011, she made a striking debut with a supporting role in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.
In 2012, Parineeti played the lead opposite Arjun Kapoor in Ishaqzaade.
After this, films like Shuddh Desi Romance, Hasee Toh Phasee, and Namaste England highlighted Parineeti’s versatility, proving she can excel in every genre, be it romance, comedy, or action.
Farther her captivating screen presence, Parineeti’s true charm lies in her simplicity. She is also a fitness enthusiast, a singer, and a nature lover, and is now preparing to welcome a little bundle of joy with her husband, Raghav Chadha.
