Shah Rukh Khan paid tribute to Piyush Pandey and wrote a heartfelt post, honouring his late friend and adman Piyush Pandey. He lauded Pandey for revolutionising Indian advertising industry.
and shared a black and white picture of Pandey and captioned, “Working and being around Piyush Pandey always felt effortless and fun. Was an honour being part of the pure magic he created. He carried his genius so lightly and revolutionised the ad industry in India. Rest in Peace my friend. Will miss you lots…(sic).”

Here’s the post:
Apart from Shah Rukh, other celebrities also paid tribute to the late icon. Actress and politician Smriti Irani shared an emotional post on X and captioned, “Piyush Pandey wasn’t just an ad man — he was one of India’s finest storytellers. He taught us that emotion is the truest language of creativity. His words made brands human, and ideas immortal. Farewell to a legend who made us feel, think, and smile…(sic).”

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta paid a tribute to the legendary adman, saying, “Fevicol ka jod toot gaya. The ad world lost its glue today. Go well, Piyush Pandey (sic).”

The late adman was often described as the face of modern Indian advertising, began his career in the 1980s and rose to become the Chief Creative Officer Worldwide of Ogilvy & Mather. A pioneer in injecting genuine Indian sensibilities, warmth, and humour into advertising, Pandey fundamentally changed how commercials connected with the nation’s diverse consumers. His work quickly transcended mere marketing; iconic campaigns—from the durable charm of the adhesive film’s message, “Jod Ke Rakhe Hamesha,” to the special moments captured in the confectionary film’s “Kuch Khaas Hai,” and the intimate storytelling of the paint film’s “Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai”—became genuine cultural touchstone.
Pandey also featured in John Abraham’s ‘Madras Cafe’ (2013) as cabinet secretary.
