Anand Mahindra says Piyush Pandey left “tremendous strides” on ad industry
Billionaire Industrialist Anand Mahindra paid a touching tribute to a creative genius Piyush Pandey esteemed as one of India’s most influential advertising minds, and force behind some of the country’s most memorable campaigns. He has left tremendous strides on the ad industry.
Crediting Pandey a man who “left collosal footfalls on the ad industry,” Anand Mahindra in his post on X: wrote “What he will remember most is not the campaigns he crafted or the brands he built, but his hearty laugh and his irrepressible zest for life. He reminded us that even in the serious business of persuasion, joy and humanity must never be forgotten.”
Quoting French philosopher Albert Camus, the Industrialist went on to add that in the midst of winter, he found there was, within him(Mahindra), an invincible summer. Piyush always carried that summer within him. Alwida, my friend. You made life richer for all of us. Om Shanti.”
Piyush Pandey, widely regarded as one of India’s most influential advertising minds, was the creative force behind some of the country’s most memorable campaigns – from Fevicol’s witty ads and Vodafone’s iconic pug to Cadbury’s “Kuch Khaas Hai” and Asian Paints’ “Har Khushi Mein Rang Laye.”
His slogan “Ab ki baar, Modi sarkar,” crafted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2014 election campaign, emerged as one of India’s most recognisable political catchphrases.
