A team effort led India to their maiden Women’s World Cup title, ousting World Champs South Africa by 52 runs in the final at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Sunday night.
It’s an.historic event in the history of women’s cricket as Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur led the Indian Cricket Team to the ICC Cricket World Cup title.
The augmented investment, pay parity with men’s cricketers, big-match temperament fostered by the WPL – Women’s Premier League and an overhaul of the coaching staff were key steps in the Indian women’s march towards the title.
