It’s said that a song factually never fades with time; they are emotions set to melody, carrying feelings that outlast generations. There are some tunes which persists to resonate in our hearts long following their release, emerging as a part of our collective nostalgia.

And now, one such timeless song has made its way back into the spotlight — trending once again after 23 long years.
Back in 2002, the Krishna Vamsi directorial film Shakti: The Power, produced by Boney Kapoor, premiered. The movie featured Shah Rukh Khan and Karisma Kapoor in pivotal roles, while Aishwarya Rai made a special appearance in a captivating dance number alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the song Ishq Kameena.

Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan’s chemistry and energy in the dance sequence ignited that still feels fresh today.
The film, made on a budget of Rs 10 crore, went on to gross over Rs 20 crore and earned moderate success at the box office. However, it was the song Ishq Kameena that truly captured the audience’s attention and turned out to be an iconic moment of its time.

The Anu Malik, composed and Sameer, pemned lyrics was sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. And the track is a playful take on the complexities and contradictions of love.

The catchy lyrics repeat the word ‘Ishq’ (love) 22 times, a fun quirk that scripted headlines upon its release.
