When Nasir Hussain and Asha Parekh shared exceptional bond
on-off screen

It’s a well-known fact in the industry the exceptional relationship shared by both the legends – filmmaker Nasir Hussain and actress Asha Parekh on and off-screen.

At that era, Nasir Hussain was looked upon as one of the most premier directors and Asha was his favourite leading lady. Their journey commenced with Dil Deke Dekho released in 1959 and which catapulted Asha into a star, and together they gave audiences many unforgettable films. Backstage, there was a quiet, emotional connect amid them.

Asha later disclosed in her autobiography
“The Hit Girl” that she intensely admired and loved Nasir Hussain, but chose not to unite into wedlock with him, being already married. Her decision came from immense respect for him and his family. Though their love story remained unresolved the warmth and understanding they shared lived on through their timeless films — an exceptional bond in Bollywood history.
