“relevant” on her talk show ‘Too Much’ with Twinkle Khanna has sparked backlash online, with many praising Farah for her dignified response. The exchange reignited debates around respect and relevance that individuals deserve.
Ever since its debut the talk show of Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s has been disrupting. But not always for the right reasons. Following the controversy surrounding their discussion on emotional infidelity versus physical infidelity, a new storm seems to be stirring trouble online. And this time around, it’s over Kajol’s comment to filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan in the latest episode featuring Farah and Ananya Panday.
In the midst of the conversation, Kajol said to Farah, “she (Farah) is relevant till today at least, and she believes she is relevant. Kajol’s remark didn’t go down well with many online users, who felt it came across as snobbish. Farah, however, responded with calm but firm words.
“Yeah, see she didn’t like that word Kajol because she feels every person is relevant in some way or the other, even if you are not working amidst addressing Kajol’s comment directly.
Kajol then tried to clarify, adding, “she meant that when you feel you feel that you are relevant.” But Farah stood her ground, replying, so she always felt she is relevant to her children or to her husband or to her mom or you know even she thinks that’s a bad word somehow no? It lets down people who aren’t working actively.
Social media users have since rallied behind Farah Khan, praising her for her composed yet powerful response and for addressing what many saw as a problematic remark.
On the work front , Farah Khan recently served as host and judge on the cooking-based reality show ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ and continues to engage audiences through her popular YouTube channel with her cook, Dilip.
