The highlight of the new poster is Dharmendra, whose appearance has been described by the makers as a “ageless legend bringing us the story of another.” He plays the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the 21-year-old soldier who emerged as one of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipients following his extraordinary bravery amidst the 1971
Indo-Pak war.
The caption shared alongside the poster captured the emotional heft of his role: “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier.” Dharmendra’s gravitas in the visual hints at a performance anchored in dignity and quiet strength, adding generational emotional weight to a story already steeped in national history.
The team also shared a second poster across social media confirming the film’s Christmas release. The caption read, “On 25th December, bravery marches into cinemas. Witness the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra hero. #Ikkis in cinemas worldwide this Christmas.” The messaging cements the film as a tribute to courage and as a significant year-end theatrical event.
A Story of Youth, Bravery, and Sacrifice

The Sriram Raghavan’s directorial “Ikkis” is produced by Dinesh Vijan under banner of Maddock Films. It revisits the life of Arun Khetarpal, whose extraordinary bravery on the battlefield turned him into a national hero. The film follows his journey from a young officer full of promise to a wartime legend whose sacrifice continues to be remembered more than five decades later.
Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut in 2023 with The Archies, steps into the role of Khetarpal. For the young actor, the role marks a significant departure, demanding a balance of innocence, determination, and ferocity. Khetarpal’s story is one of youthful conviction — a 21-year-old who, despite his age, stood unwavering in the face of overwhelming odds during the Battle of Basantar. His bravery and ultimate sacrifice earned him the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, making this chapter of history one that resonates deeply across generations.
