Former Union Minister Subhash Maharia meets Hema Malini

Former Union Minister Subhash Maharia met Hema Malini at her residence and offered floral tribute to Dharmendra.

Later he also paid floral tribute at a private prayer setup inside Dharmendra’s residence and shared pictures of the visit on his social media handle.
In his post, Maharia described Dharmendra as a cultural bridge between rural India and the glamour of Hindi cinema. He wrote that Dharmendra not only represented the vibrance of the Indian heartland on screen, but also sparked a wave of admiration for cinema in villages across the country. Calling him a personality “born in centuries,” Maharia extended his humble respects to the actor’s family.
One of the images from the visit shows Maharia placing flowers before Dharmendra’s decorated portrait, surrounded by a traditional floral arrangement and offerings. Another photograph captures him sitting beside Hema Malini, who appeared visibly emotional as she continues to navigate the days following her husband’s death. The quiet meeting underlined the deep respect Dharmendra commanded across political and cultural spheres.

Maharia’s visit comes at a time when the Deol family is holding multiple condolence gatherings for friends, colleagues and well-wishers. While the larger prayer meet hosted by Dharmendra’s first family took place at Taj Lands End earlier this week, many dignitaries and industry members have been stopping by Hema Malini’s home separately to pay their respects in a more private setting.
The former Union Minister’s tribute also reflected Dharmendra’s long-standing connection with rural India, a theme that shaped both his film career and his political journey. Known as the “He-Man” of Hindi cinema, Dharmendra won hearts through characters rooted in simplicity, courage and loyalty. His affinity with the masses later carried into his political tenure as a Member of Parliament from Bikaner.
