Madhuri Dixit catcalled on stage at IIT amidst performing

In a freak occurrence, legendary actress Madhuri Dixit who has been performing from a young age recalled how she was once catcalled on stage at Mumbai’s IIT.

Speaking on a podcast Madhuri recalled how over the years she took to training in Kathak at the age of three and given numerous performances.
She then recalled opened up how she and her sister once performed at the Mood Indigo cultural fest in IIT Bombay, where they had to groove through catcalls and faced objects thrown at them. The actress was only ten years old when this bizzare incident took place.

Recollecting how it wasn’t a place where classical dance was often performed, she told the news agency, “By the time they were about 15 minutes into the show, they were catcalling and flinging little rockets, onto the stage. She feared but her sister said, no, they have got to stand their ground, and have to go on. They performed.

Madhuri recollets that they eventually won over the students with their performance. “And so….the entire hall was full, enthralled by what was happening… that time around she was like 10 or 12 years old.
Further stating that they went on to perform for an hour and a half regardless that. The actress has two sisters, Rupa and Bharti. She did not mention who was performing with her.

In 2020, Madhuri also posted a childhood picture with one of her pictures, referring to her as her ‘favourite dance buddy’. The picture shows the actor
mid-dance in a red and white Anarkali suit with her sister dressed the same.
Sharing the picture, she wrote, “This is one of her favourite memories that she has with her sister. They used to always take part in school competitions. Here’s sharing a MajorThrowback childhood memory with her favourite dance buddy.

On the work front Madhuri was last seen in the 2024 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and will soon be seen in the JioHotstar web series “Mrs Deshpande,”
