It’s said that ‘fame’ often hides silent battles but one Bollywood star kid stunned fans when he shared a cryptic message about suicide, that shook the industry.
Born into an influential family, being the son of Legendary filmmaker late Yash Chopra and launched with every privilege, he still struggled quietly to make his mark in the film industry.
His early films put him beside stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai, yet the spotlight never truly found him, pushing him into a battle with depression.
Uday made his debut in 2000 with Mohabbatein, directed by his brother Aditya Chopra and later appeared in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Supari and the hit franchise Dhoom.
However,repeated
box-office disappointments reportedly led him into depression, an emotional battle he never shied away from admitting.
His post on X, shared previously, once read, “Deactivating his account felt as close to death as he could get. Was phenomenal! Might do it permanently soon.”
An hour later, he deleted the post but concern stayed. He spoke about death and shed light on the harsh reality many actors silently navigate.
Uday’s last screen appearance was in Netflix’s The Romantics, a docu-series exploring Yash Chopra’s legacy and the cultural impact of his films on India.
His personal life also hit the headlines. Reportedly, he was dating Tanishaa Mukerji amidst Neal ’n’ Nikki. They were together for nearly two years.
Uday is currently the CEO of YRF Entertainment, a Hollywood based production company focused on telling content-driven, compelling stories through the streaming format for global audiences.
