In an heartfelt post shared on Instagram stories, Palash said he has opted to distance from the bond and urged people to stop spreading baseless gossip
The Music composer recently addressed swirling rumours that his wedding was cancelled by dint of alleged perfidity. He called these rumours as intensely hurtful entirely baseless and defamatory. He warned that his team will proceed legally against anyone spreading misinformation.
In the midst of the wedding debacle, Smriti Mandhana gave a miss to Netflix’s ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ to celebrate Women’s cricket team’s world cup win.
Reportedly, in the promo, Kapil is seen urging Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur over the bhangra moves she showed off amid lifting the trophy. Joining the conversation, Jemimah revealed that it was Smriti Mandhana who had encouraged her to break into the dance.
Palash in his Instagram wrote that it’s been very difficult for him to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to him. It’s the most difficult phase of his life and will deal with it gracefully holding on to his beliefs and truly hope they, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Their words can wound in ways (Palash-Smriti) may never understand and requesting empathy and restraint.
This announcement also came on the heels of a confirmation from Smriti Mandhana herself that the wedding was cancelled. She has appealed for privacy for both families amidst this sensitive time.
Smriti wrote, “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around her life, and she feels it is pertinent for him to speak out at this time. He is a very private person and would like to keep it that way, but need to clarify that the wedding is called off.”
