Amid lauding Aditya Dhar’s directorial of Dhurandhar renowned filmmaker Karan Johar says the success of the film made him question his ability as a filmmaker as he was blown away by its success after watching it.
No doubt, the Dhurandhar fever has gripped the nation with its unprecedented success and drawing the audiences to the theatres ever since its theatrical release. It’s not only the viewers, but even industry insiders have showered praise on the film and
Aditya Dharâs vision and the castâs performances.
Recently Karan made his appearance at the book launch event of
Anupama Chopra’s “Dining With Stars” amidst which he spoke about how he began the year loving Saiyaara and ended it loving Dhurandhar. He said, it made him feel like, oh hisbcraft is limited. Oh my god, look at the use of background music. What henloved about Dhurandhar was that he didnât feel that the director was self-aware he felt like he wasnât trying to show off his craft, and yet he was seamlessly telling you the story.
He further spoke about the impact of the film on him as a filmmaker and said, he never felt he went wide or he went like he is going to show you a great frame, but felt it was beautifully shot sans self-awareness. He looked at that through a positive lens. He even turned mad after watching Lokah.”
Earlier, Karan had shared his review of Dhurandhar soon after its release and called it outstanding. He lauded Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh, and congratulated the cast and crew in a note shared on his Instagram story.
