With the Fast-Track Immigration having come into operation, Rani Mukerji and Sushmita Sen were among the latest celebrities to sign up.
This is a facility designed to make airport immigration quicker and hassle-free.
Reportedly, the Bureau of Immigration has been into promotion of the initiative across major international airports by sharing videos of well-known personalities registering for the service.
In the Bureau’s recent Instagram post, Bollywood celebrity Rani Mukerji was
spotted completing her registration, ensuring smoother journeys for her upcoming travels. The clip has already crossed a million views. Other videos feature actors Sushmita Sen registering for the program and Mohanlal using e-gates for seamless clearance.
Introduced in 2024, the programme aims to reduce immigration processing time from around 30 minutes to just a few seconds. Currently, 13 airports offer this facility, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Kolkata, along with newer additions like Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar. More cities are expected to join soon.
