Veteran lyricist-writerJaved Akhtar has succumbed to the sinister side of artificial intelligence, following a fake, AI-generated video which has falsely attributed a statement to him began circulating widely online. The deepfake clip shows a computer-generated image of Akhtar wearing a topi and claiming that he has “turned to God”
The lyricist-writer has in a statement has categorically denied it.
Rubbishing the video Akhtar has strongly condemned the misuse of technology and warned of legal consequences. He revealed that the clip is not only misleading but also damaging to his reputation and credibility. He further went on to add that he is seriously considering approaching the cyber police to trace those behind the fake content.
