The performance emerged as part of auspicious Pongal celebrations at the Delhi residence of Union Minister.
Earlier today, the auspious festival “Pongal” composer
GV Prakash performed the first track in his album version of Thiruvasagam before the eyes of Prime Minister Modi and Union Minister of State for Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan, in Delhi.
The performance was part of the harvest festival of ‘Pongal’ and it was a way of respecting Tamil Nadu’s traditions.
Also present at the event were Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan and Kenishaa Francis. Notably, Prakash is also the composer for Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film Parasakthi, also featuring Atharvaa and Sreeleela.
Notably, the composer shared a still from the event where he can be seen shaking hands with PM Modi. For the uninitiated,
Thiruvasagam refers to poet Manikkavacakar’s chorals dating back to the third century. He also announced that the album would be launched in the near future. Previously Ilaiyaraaja also composed
Thiruvasagam in symphony way back in the 2000s mid. At the time, Shri Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Culture, released its CD in Chennai.
Meanwhile, the film fronted GV Prakash appear opposite Kayadu Lohar in director Mariyappan Chinna’s Immortal next. The composer-actor’s upcoming films also include writer-director Maria Raja Elanchez Happy Raj,
co-stallllll Sri Gouri Priya, Abbas, and George Maryan, among others, and Mental Manadhil, directed by Selvaraghavan and co-starring Madhuri Jain. While Happy Raj has a different composer, Mental Manadhil is produced by and has compositions by GV Prakash himself. He is also serving as a composer for director AL Vijay’s documentary about Ajith Kumar’s racing endeavours.
