Sara-Orry’s camaraderie reaches an impasse

Sara-Orry’s camaraderie
reaches an impasse

A camaraderie that once appeared close amid actress Sara Ali Khan and social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry, faces public accountability after a sequence of contentious social media interactions. Orry got embroiled in controversy following her sarcastic remarks on Sara in a reel, which was found insensitive and unnecessary by many online users. The incident has sparked renewed discussions regarding respect and accountability. Amid indirect jibes, here’s how the Orry–Sara fallout unfolded.

The situation reportedly erupted following Orry’s post of a video on social media using the phrase “3 worst names,” figuring Sara Ali Khan, Amrita Singh, and Palak Tiwari. The reference was widely interpreted as involving Sara Ali Khan, her mother Amrita Singh, and actress Palak Tiwari. The reel was later deleted after sparking significant backlash from online audiences who criticised the perceived targeting of these individuals.
Shortly following the incident, Sara and her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan unfollowed Orry on Instagram. When an Instagram user later asked Orry if he had also unfollowed Sara and Ibrahim, he responded, “Long ago, bro. They just caught up.” This exchange contributed to speculation over the status of their camaraderie.
Further controversy arose when a user commented, “Amrita aunty is very angry,” on one of Orry’s posts. Orry replied, “Put a glass of ice water on her head,” a comment that many interpreted as dismissive and that fueled additional criticism regarding his attitude towards Sara’s family.

Orry took a dig at Sara on Monday, January 26, when Orry posted a reel inspired by a video from creator Amulya Rattan, in which she calls out a man for lacking civic sense while walking behind her as she filmed. However, it wasn’t the reel itself but Orry’s sarcastic response in the comments that blew up and sparked backlash.
In the video, Orry wore a blue mesh top with a dotted bra outline printed on it. When an Instagram user asked, “Genuine question: What exactly is that bra holding together?”, Orry responded, “Sara Ali Khan’s hits.” The comment was widely seen as a pointed and unnecessary swipe at the actor’s career.

Sara’s cryptic response
to the online chatter – she shared an Instagram Story featuring Vikram Sarkar’s song Naam Chale. The lyrics, which spoke on living freely and avoiding unnecessary controversies, were interpreted by many as a subtle reference to the ongoing situation. However, neither Sara nor Orry has issued any official statement addressing the public fallout.

Internet describes Orry’s behaviour bullying as exchanges and Orry’s comments have drawn condemnation from numerous online users. while others pointed out the cyclical nature of seeking attention through controversy. One Reddit user noted that Orry “thrives on attention” and suggested people stop interacting with his content, while another criticised the act of “mocking others while seeking relevance.”

The strain between Orry and Sara also seems linked to an earlier controversy involving Palak Tiwari. Two years ago, an alleged WhatsApp exchange between Orry and Palak surfaced online, in which Palak appeared to apologise, reportedly “out of respect for Sara,” while Orry responded with a middle-finger emoji and declined to accept it.

Orry later addressed the backlash, implying that Palak had crossed a major boundary and only apologised after someone else stepped in. Although the exact reason behind their fallout was never disclosed, the episode had already suggested underlying tensions within the same social circle that includes Sara and Ibrahim.
