Renowned lyricist, singer, and actor Swanand Kirkire has officially joined the cast of director Sooraj Barjatya’s next venture, titled “Yeh Prem Mol Liya”.
“Yeh Prem Mol Liya” is a romantic family drama featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh, marking Barjatya’s return to his traditional, family-centric storytelling.
While specific details about his character are kept under wraps, reports indicate Kirkire plays a “very interesting and pivotal role” that adds significant emotional depth to the film.
Kirkire expressed excitement about working with Barjatya, noting, that when he heard the world of
Yeh Prem Mol Liya, he was intensely moved by its emotional simplicity and sincerity”.
The film is anticipated for a major 2026 release.
Sharing his thoughts on his collaboration with Sooraj Barjatya Swanand Kirkire said in a detailed note that working with Sooraj ji feels like coming home to a certain kind of storytelling that shaped many of the actors as audiences.
