Bhansali’s family puts to rest rumours of his
hospitalisation
The family of legendary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali issued a statement on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after some media reports claimed that he was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack.
Taking to Instagram, his family said in the statement, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is doing absolutely fine. He has gone in for a routine medical check-up and there is no cause for concern and they sincerely appreciate the love, care, and concern shown by everyone. In the end she thanked everyone for their continued support and warm wishes.
As he celebrated his 63rd birthday there were reports claiming that he had suffered heart attack after which he was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.
Bhansali, known for making larger-than-life epic dramas like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Gangubai Kathiawadi and the OTT series Heeramandi, is currently working on his next film, Love and War. As of now under production, the period-drama features Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
