After the emotional tribute to the late Dharmendra at the 79th BAFTA Awards (2026), Hema Malini addressed evolving speculations setting the record straight on the alleged discord within the family.
The actress-politician dispelled myths of a feud within the children of Dharmendra from his first marriage (Sunny and Bobby Deol), stating there is “no negativity at all” and that they are all united in mourning and fond of each other.
In regard to the bond amid her daughters (Esha and Ahana) and Sunny/Bobby, she noted, Papa is there, and everyone will do anything for him
It’s an heartening recognition that Hema described the BAFTA “In Memoriam” segment for Dharmendra noting his global popularity, where he would be mobbed in foreign countries.
She admitted to profound loss, saying, she misses him every single minute,” and that she still finds it hard to accept that he is gone.
Dharmendra passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89, and this 2026 BAFTA tribute honored his six-decade-spanning
