One buyer from Mumbai brought one parcel, and the other 3 parcels of Dawood land in Ratnagiri g
Four parcels of agricultural land owned by the family of India’s most wanted terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim, went under the hammer on Friday at a reserve price of just over ₹ 19 lakh. The land parcels are the underworld don’s childhood/ancestral property and are located in Mumbake village in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district.
Earlier While the number of bidders is not clear, one person who is certain to turn up is lawyer and former Shiv Sena member Ajay Srivastava, who has successfully bid on three of the terrorist’s properties in the past. The properties include Dawood’s childhood home in Mumbake village, where he was born.
While the shops he had bid for in 2001 are caught in a legal tangle, Srivastava hopes to get the deed for the 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind’s home soon. The lawyer said he plans to start a Sanatan Pathshala (school) there.
Earlier in 2017 and 2020, over 17 properties belonging to Dawood Ibrahim were auctioned by SAFEMA.
These properties had been attached by the SAFEMA competent authority for cases related to smuggling and NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act cases against Dawood Ibrahim and his family members.
The government had kept a total reserve price of around Rs 19 lakh for all the properties as they are categorised as agricultural land, currently abandoned and overgrown, with a dilapidated structure standing on one of the plots.
Earlier reports indicated that Dawood Ibrahim, a notorious underworld figure, was unwell and hospitalised, reportedly in a critical condition. While the news remains unverified, some former associates of his gang residing in Mumbai claimed that Dawood was suffering from hypertension, diabetes, and other illnesses.
