Actor Rajpal Yadav is contesting a ₹9 crore debt case, calling it as an “ego clash” and declining to settle. He opts to legally argue the matter instead of paying, according to reports. The actor has faced imprisonment, but the Delhi High Court has provided partial relief although the dispute regarding the loan for his directorial debut continues.
The actor Rajpal claims the issue is an “ego clash” and has challenged the charges rather than settling them.
The case stems from a 2010 loan of approximately ₹5 crore for his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata, which ballooned to nearly ₹9 crore due to interest and legal issues.
He was sent to Tihar Jail regarding this case but was later granted interim bail, with the Delhi High Court monitoring the substantial repayments being made in 2026.
The actor is actively defending himself against the charges, challenging the allegations rather than seeking a pre-trial settlement.
