Setback to CSK: MS Dhoni ruled out of IPL 2026 due to calf strain

Going by reports, from March 28, 2026, due to calf strain, MS Dhoni may not play for the first two weeks of IPL 2026.
The 44-year-old CSK veteran, reportedly is undergoing rehabilitation for a calf strain, which he picked up recently.

He is expected to miss the first four matches, including the opener against Rajasthan Royals (March 30), Punjab Kings (April 3), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (April 5), and Delhi Capitals (April 11).
In his absence, Sanju Samson (recently traded from RR) or Urvil Patel is expected to take over wicketkeeping duties.
It’s learned that he could potentially return for the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14 if his recovery goes to plan.
