News comes to the fore that Industrialist Anil Ambani has filed a defamation suit in the Bombay High Court against Arnab Goswami and Republic TV, alleging that the channel’s reporting on his financial transactions caused irreparable damage to his reputation. The suit seeks an injunction against further publication of what it calls defamatory content related to regulatory probes.
The petition alleges that Republic TV’s coverage falsely associated Ambani personally with Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations into Reliance Group companies.
Injunction Sought: Ambani is requesting an interim injunction to restrain Republic TV, its parent company ARG Outlier Media, and others from broadcasting or publishing further content.
The case is expected to be heard on April 1 by a single-judge bench of Justice Milind Jadhav.
