Popular playback singer Sapna Mukherjee expressed gratitude for her 1989 hit “Oye Oye” being featured in Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2), stating her original vocals were “respected, not replaced”. She praised director Aditya Dhar for retaining the song’s soul in its new context. She feels this is a rare, meaningful artistic validation rather than just nostalgia.

The singer emphasized that her original voice was retained, which she felt was a high form of respect.
The song, originally from the Rajiv Rai directorial Tridev, is used in a crucial, emotional flashback scene in the film’s climax.
Amidst her revent media interaction she credited director Aditya Dhar for bringing the song back meaningfully,
On a lighter note, she mentioned she would love to see actor Ranveer Singh dance to her original voice on a big stage.
