The bond was marred by the infamous match-fixing scandal of 2000, in which Jadeja’s name was linked alongside Mohammad Azharuddin. This controversy effectively ruined his cricket career and caused widespread public disapproval.
Jadeja belonged to the royal family of Nawanagar (Jamnagar), and his family was reportedly against him marrying an actress. Conversely, Madhuri’s family also reportedly turned their back on Jadeja following the match-fixing allegations.
