When the “Are Re Are” song from the 1997 Yash Chopra’s directorial blockbuster movie Dil To Pagal Hai was rejected 50 times.
The Story Behind the Song:
Music director Uttam Singh reportedly spent seven months composing the tune and played it for director Yash Chopra repeatedly, but it was rejected roughly 50 times before eventually being accepted.
The song was finally recorded by Udit Narayan and Lata Mangeshkar, emerging as one of the most iconic romantic duets of the era.
The film Dil went on to win three National Film Awards.
